FAMILY BACKGROUND

The Director of Salvation Deliverance Holy Ghost Church of God Inc. Snr. Pst. L.K. Bartholomew came from Obunakput family in Egwebe Oyetile Community in Asarama Town in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. There were seven in number, five boys and two girls as his parents gave birth to them.  He happened to experience the ordeal nature of the Nigerian civil war between Nigeria and Biafra. During that time he joined the Civil defense and The Boys Scout that helped to shapen his life for the future.

 

EDUCATIONAL BACK GROUND

Snr. Pst. L.K. Bartholomew from his youth attended Methodist Primary School back in the days in Asarama from 1973-1978 and obtained his first school leaving certificate he later attended Government Secondary School Asarama and obtained his Senior School Certificate Examination result.  Due to his quest and burning desire for higher education he later attended Teachers Training College Ngo in Andoni Rivers State. National Business and Technical Examination Board NABTEC he further attended Federal Polytechnic Damaturu and obtained ordinary National Diploma (OND) and higher national diploma (HND) and later college of education now University of Education and obtained his National Certificate of Education (NCE) also Christian life Bible College.  He is a member of Chaplaincy International a Paramilitary Organization and has the rank of a Captain, presently he is a jurist in training of Ecclesiastical Law and Jurisprudence in International Christian Judicial Academy now Professor Nyenwegwe Ezekiel University.  With the aim of becoming a lawyer and judge in Ecclesiastical court.  He is also happily married to Evang. Mrs. Patience L.K. Bartholomew who is also in the same institution; they both have God fearing children.

 

THE CALL:

CHRISTIAN BACKGROUND

Snr. Pst. L.K. Bartholomew repented and gave his life to Christ in the year 1977 it was this same year that he had an encounter with the Lord in Pentecostal Ministry called Greater Evangelism Word Crusade, come 1978 he was baptized at where they used to have their healing service at Elechi Beach in Port Harcourt.  The Bible says in the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven” since the Lord had purposed to call him from his mother womb, the time came in the year 1982 the Lord now perfected that call for pastoral and ministerial work.  As a matter of fact he rejected the call because at the time he was preparing to join the Nigeria police force because he had burning desire for it instead he preferred to be an ordinary member in Greater Evangelism World Crusade than to answer the call.

 

Consequent upon that, in the year 1984 he fell seriously ill due to his refusal to answer the call when his ailment become very worse his mother took him about trying to find solution to his ailment but all treatment given to him proved abortive.  At a time all hope was lost thinking he will die.  The moment he agreed to do the work of God although not be at the helms of affair to be the head of a ministry.  At this juncture he was taken to D/Line in Port Harcourt  to meet with the late Director of Greater Evangelism world crusade who goes by the name Apostle G.D. Numbere and his very words in quote was “Lysius do you want to loose your life”.  There after he had a brief tete-a-tete with him he later signed and filled the admission form meant for Greater Evangelism World Crusade Bible School where he studied Theology for two (2) years  and obtained hi diploma certificate. While he was in Greater Evangelism World Crusade he pastored twelve churches including his community (hometown) Asarama a Biblical saying goes thus “A prophet is known (honoured) in his hometown” this was not the case with the Director of the Ministry.  As a result of his sterling quality, good track records and the power of God that manifested itself though him, he was honoured in his hometown.

 

Having regard to the call of Snr. Pst. L.K. Bartholomew to start a ministry, certain dreams, revolutions and visions abound and attested to his call from very devoted believers from Greater Evangelism World Crusade.  They go thus; Minister Mercy Natong who told him that refusing God’s call will amount to his death alongside Evangelist Agnes Atagwung who is currently the mother of Asarama Church.

 

After revealing to some people who related to him about the call of God for him, and after he was converted sometime in March he had an encounter with three white men who visited him with Helicopter.  They asked him if he will do pastoral work and lead the Lord’s flock as a general overseer, but his reply was capital letter “NO” owing to the fact that he wanted to worship God continuously in Greater Evangelism World Crusade.  The moment he gave them the above response they called him a fool and departed from him.  Also when he was living in Enitona High School Premises Borokiri he was visited and told that anytime he wants to commence the work of ministry that it will be provided as well God’s presence will be with him.  Even when he was doing pastoral work in Okilile in Andoni the Lord gave him in a dream the name of the ministry and the Ark which represents the presence of God at this point there was nothing that was heard any more by way of message.

 

AFTER CALL

From the foregoing, it will be deduced that when God was calling Snr. Pst. L.K. Bartholomew for ministerial work and to head ministry, he refused totally but after words he resigned to faith by accepting the call, ever since the Lord has been so faithful to him.

It is said that “Behind every successful man there is a woman.  He is happily married to Evang. Mrs. Patience LK Bartholomew a woman of many parts humble, prudent, faithful, reliable, dependable and virtuous in nature.  At this point it should be noted that she is instrumental to all the successes recorded in the ministry, she has established many churches namely Ajakajak Church in Andoni, Bundu church, Ada George Church, Rumuosi Church, in Port Harcourt and Eleme Church in Ogoni Rivers State.

Owing to Snr. Pst. L.K. Bartholomew’s call, pastoral duties in may stations and subsequent successes and achievements recorded so far are giants strides on his part that has made salvation deliverance Holy Ghost Church of Gd Inc.  Rexlawson Parish to pour encomiums on him today.  It said “Who the cap fits. The director of the ministry has distinguished himself among ministers of the gospel.  He is a legend, pragmatic and a servant leader, a leader per excellence, an achiever tested and proven, because he has never backpedaled, instead he has been working tooth and nail to please God and at such has won many laurels. So far so good he has embarked on “40 years voyage of discoveries” in ministerial work and is using the wealth of experience gathered in the training of Tomorrow’s leaders today”.

 

In fact he deserves a worthy part on the back and a well done nod, because his works speaks volumes.  He is going from glory to glory, victory to victory, strength to strength, power to power and grace to grace.  It is due to his monumental works and qualities that endears him to God and man and has earned him name “THE FRUITFUL VINE”.

Going by the above we deduced a factor that has propelled him to excel, beyond reasonable doubt, that factor is his attitude as the saying goes “Your attitude determine your altitude”, following his lofty achievements, it is crystal clear that he has created a niche for himself because of his worthy and enduring ethic, without mincing words.

 

Based on the foregoing, the minister in charge, elders, executive council members of Salvation Deliverance Holy Ghost Church of God Inc. Rex Lawson Parish deem it fit to mark the 40years in ministry celebration of our amiable father Snr. Pst. L.K. Bartholomew the Director of the Ministry who has gone through thick and thin in ministry work.  After due appraisal and evaluation of his selfless meritorious services to God and humanity in building an enviable, a virile, a purpose driven and an egalitarian ministry.  We say, you are worth giving this laurel and award for excellence kudos.

 

We also appreciate God for giving us this divine privilege to celebrate our Director’s 40years in ministry and for playing host to all of you who have come from all walks of life to honour this invitation.

ABOUT SADEHGCG REXLAWSON PARISH

Salvation Deliverance Holy Ghost Church of God Inc. Rex Lawson Parish has really come to stay against all odds.  The church started like a home fellowship in the home of Eld. & Mrs. Grace Inia Briggs.  During that time Rev. Williams Augustine A. was posted  to handle the first home fellowship that used to organize a non-denominational night vigil that usually hold every Tuesday night called “Operation fire for fire night vigil”.  In the same vein, after words some pastors were posted to work in the station, they did it effectively and efficiently to the Glory of God.  As a matter of fact after the building of the permanent site of Salvation Deliverance Holy Ghost Church of God Inc. Rex Lawson Parish as it pleased the Lord because the first church that dedicated a church in the whole ministry on Sunday 26th February 2017.

 

Finally, the Lord has been faithful to us in the area of soul’s blessings, favours, long life and prosperity, peaceful Co-existence.  We thank God for making Rex Lawson Parish come alive, wax stronger and marching on the sands of time.  We also appreciate God for giving us the privilege to celebrating our Director’s 40years in ministry and for playing host to all of you who have come from all walks of live to honour this invitation.

1.       THE MINISTRY’S ARK AND IT’S MEANING

The Gold covered wooden box known as the Ark of the Covenant or covenant box, was Israel’s most sacred religious article. It was approximately 110 centimeters long, 65 centimeters wide and 66 centimeters deep.  It’s ornament lid, over which were mounted two soldier cherubim, was the symbolic throne of God known as the mercy seat.  Exodus 25:10-22 the ark signify the presence and glory of God.
